We’ve got quite the colorful creature this week for Menagerie Monday. The Weave Squid is a strange, extraplanar being that’s composition is as much magic as a human’s is water. It’s strange nature means you can throw it into just about any environment as a surprise for your party and still have a fun encounter.
Favored among the plains-dwelling elves, Girja are one of the fastest land mounts to be found. Their long legs and enormous stride enable them to easily outpace the quickest riding horses. They are not without their physical limitations however. They are clearly built for speed, and are otherwise relatively frail compared to other mounts.
The Bile Hound is what you get when you don’t properly vet funding requests at your arcane university. It only took one explosion on school grounds before Fizzbuzz Foobar’s academy certification was revoked, but the damage was already done.
These two variant kobold stat blocks are intended as leader-type enemies for lower level encounters, but there’s nothing to say they can’t be used in greater numbers as fodder in mid level encounters.
Most often seen crawling slowly down the hallways of abandoned tombs and mausoleums, the crypt snail is a strange creature of unknown origins. But don’t let their strange appearance frighten you, these gastropods are often welcome inhabitants of burial places, as the flames from the candles they carry can ward off angry spirits.
